For painters and contractors, painting doors can be expensive and time-consuming. Painting interior and exterior doors in City, County, and Federal offices and Courts, Jails, Prisons, Veterans Affairs offices, Museums, Park facilities, Libraries, and Public Housing where there are many doors and cabinets that need to stay in great shape can be a challenge. Trying to paint, restore, and maintain a clean and professional painting area while trying to maintain a professional appearance in these types of places is difficult. With Door Deckers, the traditional method of painting one side of the door, one at a time, and waiting 2-3 days for drying time is a long-gone conclusion.

Mr. Speed’s Painting Tools have created Door Deckers to help painters and contractors paint multiple doors, saving a lot of time, space and expense, allowing painters to be awarded jobs and contracts and that means more income.

Door Deckers from Mr. Speed’s Painting Tools is a revolutionary tool made from solid metals. This innovative design allows you to stack doors when painting, saving you time and space. Drips, runs, and smudges are avoided from too much handling, and the stacking style creates a sizable space between the doors for greater airflow and faster drying times. This greatly increases work and productivity. With the capability to stack multiple doors and paint both sides in one seamless process, you can complete the project in any Government office, City building, or public place and move on to the next project quickly.

When painting in a Government office, City building, or public place, contractors and painters have found the Door Deckers from Mr. Speed’s Painting Tools to be extremely easy to set up and manipulate. The process includes removing all the hardware from the door and repairing any chips, scratches, nicks, or spots. Setup is simple but it is recommended that two people are available when it is time to flip the doors. Once attached, both sides of the doors can be sprayed and stacked out of the way for drying.

The Finishing System includes two steel plates with handles attached to brass eyelets. Each plate is securely screwed into the center of either end of a door with a #8 x 1 1/4 inch Phillips wafer head screw (included with purchase) prior to paint or stain application. One pair used on each door is the best method for the average height/weighted door. Once the Door Deckers are attached, painting can begin. Spray one side and then with one person on each end of the door, flip the door and spray the opposite side. Then move the door to an out-of-the-way location for stacking and drying. Continue the process with each additional door. The interlocking system of the steel plates allows for the Door Deckers to balance against each other while stacked. This horizontal painting and drying process creates application finishes without runs or sags and is stacked up and out of the way for drying - great for saving space on a job site.

To ensure the paint built up between the steel plate and the door itself, the contractor or painter will need to use a knife or sharp edge to score around the edges of the Door Decker before removing the steel plates. This will remove the risk of tearing the paint around the edges of the door.

When painting or staining hollow-core doors, it is recommended to stack the doors for drying only 8-10 doors high. Because the doors are lightweight, they are able to be stacked higher but be aware that warping can occur if left too long in a horizontal position. Included in every box of Door Deckers is an optional tool called the On-Edge Rubber Feet that can be used to help combat warping.

When painting or staining solid-core doors, it is recommended to stack the doors only 3-4 doors high. In addition, if the doors are not only heavy but also long, using 3 (for a tripod) or 4 (for a “quad-stack”) Door Deckers will create a more sturdy stack.

Cleaning Door Deckers from Mr. Speed’s Painting Tools is a simple process. Toss the Door Deckers into an empty five-gallon bucket and soak them in water or paint thinner, depending on the application type covering the tools. Rinse well and air dry.

Door Deckers from Mr. Speed’s Painting Tools are amazingly sturdy and can be used to paint interior, exterior and metal doors, shelves, and shutters. These amazing tools create a professional, high-quality outcome in any type of Government office, City building, or public place where a  painting job is done. The On-Edge drying option is also included in every purchase from Mr. Speed’s Painting Tools.
